Abstract [eng] The differences between languages were revealed by images fixed in the compared languages, which also revealed the original notion of the market. In German linguistic consciousness, the market (Markt) is imagined as cleaned, purified or overrun territory (a square, a yard), a pasture land, the grass of which is eaten by the cattle or as a satisfied, relaxed and therefore slow and clever person who sometimes should be brought round and should necessarily be cured. In Lithuanian linguistic consciousness, the market is related to home, the door on which you should knock, or to an ill person experiencing hard days but showing some vital signs.
