Abstract [eng] The article based on the results of teachers' questionnaire reveals the peculiarities of team work in a mainstream school when meeting special educational needs of pupils. After questioning 117 teachers from different types of mainstream schools in the Eastern region of Lithuania, it has been found out ascertained that in mainstream school pupils’ special educational needs are met in the interdisciplinary team, where parents are accepted as team members, however the participation of a pupil with special needs is limited to a team work. The teachers’ opinion about teamwork in real educational environments is rather contradictory. On the one hand, they claim that team work is carried out through discussions, making resolutions, sharing responsibilities with all team members and providing support to each other. On the other hand, they admit that each team member works separately and individually with a child and is often concentrated on their own area of expertise. Team work is often carried out at team meeting level – so long as general discussion takes place, team members discuss and talk with each other, however in the educational process, they go back to a more usual and easy individual work model.
