Abstract [eng] For the first time in history, Šiauliai (Shaulen) town scheme was marked in the scheme made by Saxon of Swedish cartographers in 1699. Russian war cartographers drew the first colour scheme of Šiauliai town in 1800-1801. Šiauliai St. Peter and Paul’s cathedral, some streets and buildings of the town were indicated in that scheme. In 1920 the actual state scheme of Šiauliai town was formulated, and it was specified in 1924. Šiauliai town situation scheme was made in 1928, in it all streets and roads of the town were described. In 1951 the first postwar master plan of Šiauliai town was prepared. In accordance with this scheme, the town was being built till 1960. In 2009 the detailed scheme of Šiauliai town was confirmed and development guidelines and growth perspectives were envisaged.
