Various texts contain the derivatives which have not been included into the Dictionary of the Lithuanian Language. This article deals with the neologisms of Kalanavičius poetry (341 of them have been discussed in this article). The analysis allowed drawing the conclusion that most of derivatives can be treated as potential derivatives. The usage of derivatives with the prefix su- and especially with the suffix - dinėti is the reflection of the dialect of the author. The research demonstrates that neologisms are very common as figures of speech. They are used as metaphorical epithets or the part of simile, personification or reduplication in particular. Derivative synonyms are synonyms which have the same root, different derivational affix es, identical derivational meaning and very similar lexical meaning. 16 new rows of derivative synonyms were discussed in this article. According to the data of the Corpus of the Lithuanian Language compiled by Vytautas Magnus University only 8,5% of neologisms are used in the texts of different stylistic register. Some of them (greitvietė, kaldinys) could be included into dictionaries some day. |
