Abstract [eng] The academic literature is mainly published in scientific articles analyzing the general electronic publishing and scientific communication situation, but scientific researches do not specifically distinguish electronic publishing and scientific communication changes, there is no emphasis on their relationship in the information age. This article highlights the relevance not only by that this is a little studied area, but also by other factors. In particular, information technology, inserted in the country’s public life, led to the quantitative and qualitative changes in publishing. Secondly, the communication and information transmission means are changing, the scientific conception of communication is seen in broader context. Therefore, this article aims to reveal how the formation of information society, new technological dominance in the traditional publisher’s approach to its working principles, together highlight a modern – digital – method of dissemination of scientific information. As a subject of research a specific category of publishing – electronic publishing – was selected. The aim is to analyze the phenomenon of electronic publishing and its role in scientific communication: the abnormal traditional publishing, the press defined in this article, the electronic publishing and the electronic media. The twenty-first century has brought enormous changes to the publishing industries – high-tech, inserted in public life, led to the quantitative and qualitative changes in publishing. Changes in the normal publishing institution not only improved the old, well-established tradition of work, but also were aimed at changing the attitude of publishers to the emerging publishing system.
