Abstract [eng] The article presents the analysis of Svoboda radio broadcasts Dokumenty prošlovo as the unit of analysis of the qualitative data on sport topics in the years 2000 2008. In the research are studied the ways and elements of the formation of sport memory that comprise the content of the broadcasts, the discourse meaningful interpretative analysis of the data on the topics of sport when sport as a social cultural phenomenon constantly makes the historical consciousness topical. The aim of the research is to analyze the radio broadcasts on physical education and sport history. The basis of the research is comprised of the problem question: what is the content of radio broadcasts on the topics of sport, what new aspects of physical education and sport history are analyzed, what is their interpretation and evaluation? The mixed purposive selection was used in the research, radio broadcasts (N=17), sources of archives presented in them (N=33), presenters, participants and listeners (N=39) comprised the sample of the research. The qualitative analysis was performed according to the meaningful nests (Cotton, 2007) which helped to determine categories and subcategories representing sport representatives’ experience, to augment the characteristic of various stages of physical education and sport history, to distinguish their features. Most radio broadcasts are a valuable source for the research on physical education and sport history which helps to highlight and concretize the details of sport historical events, to determine their significance and importance comparing the narration with extant documents or their fragments, to complement the understanding of one or another sport event. However, subjectivity is inevitable in them; they have to be critically evaluated. The most important topics of the content of radio broadcasts are the links between sport and politics which are expressed in the categories “aims”, “outcomes”, “experience”. [...].
