Abstract [eng] Physical activeness creates conditions to improve suppleness, stamina, strength as well as helps to provide appropriate bloodstream and stimulate heart functioning. Being physically fit a child at a primary school socializes easily, feels self-confident and is in good emotional mood. Scientists have proved close relationship between physical activeness, physical fitness and physical and emotional health. Thus, focus on problems related to children fitness and its improvement is considered to be of major importance. The objective of the research done is to define physical fitness of junior children as well as to analyze interaction between physical activeness and physical strength. Lack of activeness has been found. Traditionally it was believed that children living in the country exercise helping parents at work (49 percent state they help parents regularly, 47 percent say they do it sometimes and 4 percent never do any housework or work outside). The second misbelief is that children usually walk kilometres to school and back. In practice, parents drive children to school; they are picked up by school or state transport, and only 5 percent of village children walk to school for up to 30 minutes and 1 percent walk to school for more than 30 minutes. Most children (94%) need 10 minutes to reach school. It has been found that 53% of village children exercise during their spare time; the others (47%) spend spare time watching television, listening to music and reading books. All these facts show that activeness of junior schoolchildren is insufficient and does not match scientists’ recommendations. According to the research done is it clear that fitness of junior schoolchildren depends on children activeness (the worst results were observed among schoolchildren of grade 3). Educators working in village schools should be concerned with potentialities to stimulate pupils’ interest in physical activeness. [...].
