Abstract [eng] Using information transmitted over channel concepts human’s smooth pursuit eye movements control system parameters were compared with manual control parameters during target pursuit by computer mouse. In this case two-dimensional target trajectory on the computer screen was defined as input information of the channel (control system) and line of sight or computer cursor trajectories – as output information. It was found that during smooth pursuit channel capacity of the oculomotor system is 8 bits/sec, and during mouse control channel capacity of the manual sensorimotor system is 6.5 bits/sec. Both systems act effectively and have the largest channel capacities when peak velocity of the two-dimensional target trajectory is around 5 degrees/ sec.
