Abstract [eng] The article deals with the changes of emotional and physical condition of female pedagogues while applying the model of yoga exercises. It was aimed to identify and evaluate the impact of yoga exercises on physical fitness and emotional condition of women. It is admitted that professional competence of a pedagogue depends mostly on physical readiness and on common health condition as well. That is why we set the following objectives to the research: to work out and apply the model of yoga exercises for female pedagogues in order to increase their physical activity; to identify the changes in women’s emotional condition; to evaluate the change of female pedagogues’ physical fitness. The following research methods were employed: theoretical analysis and generalisation; pedagogical experiment; testing of physical fitness (Eurofit’o testai suaugusiems, Volbekienė, 1997) and emotional condition (Raigorodskis, 2003); mathematical statistics. The research results show that yoga is a universal form of physical activity; it can be applied for strengthening health of people of various ages and of different physical fitness. The pedagogical experiment revealed that yoga exercises had made a positive impact on the change of investigated female pedagogues’ physical and emotional condition. The research helped in identifying that majority of physical fitness indices had changed statistically significantly during the period of the experiment. Yoga exercises positively influenced the change of indices of the LSR (level of stress resistance) and FAT (feels, activity and temper) tests.
