Abstract [eng] |
The paper deals with the semantic and derivative field of the noun akmuo. This noun is the base word of 95 derivatives (including derivative variants): 79 of them are included in the Dictionary of the Lithuanian Language, in the Dictionary of Synonyms, in dialect dictionaries; 16 derivatives used in various linguistic texts, thesauruses, in Corpus of Lithuanian Language, Google etc. are not incorporated in the dictionaries. Derivative synonyms are the kind of synonyms which have the same root, different derivational affixes and a very similar or identical lexical meaning. Derivative variants have identical derivational and lexical meaning, the same derivational affix and differ in vowel gradation, connecting vowel etc. Derivatives from the same basic word akmuo can be treated as derivative variants and derivative synonyms very often – 16 rows of derivative variants (e. g. akmenskalys – akmenskelys, akmeniavertis – akmenvertis) and 8 rows of derivative synonyms (e. g. akmenyčia – akmenija – akmenynas – akmenynė – akmenytė – akmenojus – akmenuva) were discussed in this article. The noun akmuo belongs to the fifth declension. Such nouns have two stems piem- and piemen-, akm- and akmen-. Almost all derivatives have the longer stem akmen-. So the derivatives of the noun akmuo correspond to the derivational sample. Only 2 compound words out of 52 have the connecting vowel -(i)a- (akmenialaužys, akmeniavertis). |
