In this paper, we analyse semantic web technologies for representation and management of domain knowledge. We present an approach for the development of an intelligent advice system for fault diagnostics based on domain ontology. The approach encapsulates both a separation of conceptualisation of domain and factual data, and realisation of reasoning mechanisms over domain ontology. We present an experimental system for supporting identification of BIOS-related computer problems. The system was developed using the proposed approach. Our approach can be used in different domains, both in e-learning context, and in the field of support services delivery for users of a product or process. |
