Abstract [eng] As modern humans we are in close relation with machines, which influence virtually every aspect of our existence. The use of machines has not only radically transformed the nature of productive activity but also left its mark on the imagination, thoughts and feelings of humans throughout the ages. The image of the machine and all sorts of mechanisms has induced mechanical thinking and mechanistic view of the world. Scientists have produced mechanistic interpretations of the natural world, philosophers and psychologists have suggested mechanistic theories of human mind and behavior. Increasingly, we have learned to use the machine as a metaphor for ourselves and our society, and to mold our world in accordance with mechanical principles (Morgan 1986, 20).
