The aim of the present paper is to discuss some aspects of the analysis of linguistic-cultural comparison. Comparisons of the Lithuanian and the Russian languages are analyzed and compared. Moreover, those comparisons are associated with concrete and abstract fragments of reality. Comparisons are an alternative of phraseologiiims. A comparison may by invoked in order to specify a description of a particular object. In such constructions, an estimation standard, measure system, the most prototypical member of the category are fixed. The most prototypical member of the categories are revealed while collating comparisonssss of two or more languages, which are associated with the same objects of reality. It is supposed that in the language world-view the same peculiarities are revealed on the basis of different point of departure. While analyzing particularities of linguistic-cultural comparisons it is necessary to pay attention to what objects and phenomena the most invoked are looking for comparison prototype in various languages. Languages compared may differ in what peculiarities are associated with the same comparing source. The paper also discusses peculiarities of comparisons, which are associated with concrete and abstract objects. Exemplifying and qualifying functions are analyzed as well. A conclusion is drawn that specifying peculiarities af concrete objects in the wordviews of the compared language such prototypes, which are well known for the language users and are common in their living surrounding, are opted. A small part of the members of prototype categories are associated with mental culture of only nation. |
