Considering globalisation processes, development of the intercultural competence becomes an increasingly relevant research topic. Successful learning process is related to favourable educational environment which distinguishes itself by emphasis on high level of responsibility, possibility to express autonomy, availability of necessary resources, tolerance for failures and quality feedback, enhancing students’ belief in his/her abilities and encouraging students’ motivation. Educational environment that empowers student to study encompasses competence, psychological, didactic, organisational-material and sociocultural conditions. The article deals with the said conditions through master students’ experiences of developing the intercultural competence in Lithuanian and foreign education institutions. Comparing experience acquired in Lithuania and abroad, research participants distinguish teaching methods, psychological conditions and infrastructure indicators, contributing to the development of their intercultural competence. The article aims to discuss master students’ experiences and reflections, analysing effectiveness of educational environments, learning and assessment strategies and methods of intercultural competence development in Lithuanian and foreign higher education institutions. |
