Plant genetic resources for national single trees and tree groups category includes 662 trees belonging to 63 plant species and 22 cultivars. 106 trees are from spontaneous flora and 556 – introduced plants. The 624 trees grow in 72 parks, and the 38 trees – in other green areas of cities and towns. These trees grow in 36 municipalities of Lithuania. The largest plant genera represented is: larch – 205 (Larix decidua Mill. – 150, Larix kaempferi (Lamb.) Carriere – 3, Larix gmelinni (Rupr.) Rupr. var. japonica (Maxim. ex Regel) Pilg. – 9, Larix x marschlinsii Coaz – 7, and Larix sibirica Ledeb. – 36), lime – 98 (Tilia americana L. – 1, Tilia platyphyllos Scop. – 33, Tilia platyphyllos 'Laciniata' – 3, Tilia euchlora K. Koch – 15, and Tilia cordata Mill. – 48), poplar – 68 (Populus alba L. – 2, Populus x berolinensis (K. Koch) Dippel – 15, Populus nigra L. – 2, Populus nigra 'Italica' – 9, Populus canadensis Moench – 5, Populus simonii Carr. – 15, Populus laurifolia Ledeb. – 7, and Populus nigra L. x Populus canescens (Ait.) Sm. – 14), oak – 59 (Quercus robur L. – 28, Quercus robur 'Cupressoides' – 5, Quercus robur 'Fastigiata' – 11, Quercus palustris Münchh. – 1, and Quercus rubra L. – 16). There are 36 pine (Pinus L.), 33 beech (Fagus L.), 32 maple (Acer L.), 22 alder (Alnus Mill.) and 13 walnut (Juglans L.) trees in the list as well. |
