The article deals with the factors of high learning achievements, analyses how fluid and crystallised intelligence, verbal and numerical abilities, knowledge, factors of home and school environment are related to achievements. Three groups of high achievers were formed and their results were analysed in the research – the group of high achievers in Lithuanian (n-23), the group of high achievers in mathematics (n-25) and the group of high achievers both in Lithuanian and mathematics (n-13). The research has shown that 17–18 years old students in the group of high achievers in both the Lithuanian language and mathematics are characterised with higher fluid intelligence, verbal abilities and better academic self-concept. |
