The article deals with the conceptualization of the linguistic-cognitive expression in the context of the German language and culture. Despite the possible differentiation of the concepts of emotion and love, this paper deals with emotions. On the basis of analytical exploration, love is considered to be the most important of the so-called positive emotions. In the love lyrics by Walther von der Vogelweide, love is not only referred to in the German lyrics presumably for the first time, but it is also conceptualized by certain linguistic-cognitive actions. The love lyrics of Walther von der Vogelweide has influenced the whole of German literary discourse from the 13th century onwards. The principal linguistic-cognitive method of conceptualization in his lyrics is the metonymic semantic transposition (somatism) of body parts and their collocations, which are analyzed on the grounds of the poems by Walther von der Vogelweide. This analysis may be treated as a new direction in linguistics of emotions, i. e. as a new branch of cognitive linguistics. |
