Abstract [eng] Human trafficking is not a usual crime, which is one of the most serious violations of human rights. The object of this crime is not a thing but a person having his own will. Human trafficking is a deal, the aim of which is to exploit a person, however, there are cases when a victim agrees to be exploited. It is a dynamic, fast-changing field of crime that changes not only forms but also its nature. There is an agreement at international and national level that both forced and voluntary slavery is intolerable. The Master's paper “Contemporary Human Trafficking in the Context of Criminal Justice” analyzes and evaluates the peculiarities of criminal liability for human trafficking, its extent and criminalization in the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania, paying attention to the valid norms which are claimed in article 147 of the CC. The paper analyzes the objective and subjective features of the crime of human trafficking, reveals the legal assessment of these features in the Lithuanian criminal law doctrine and in case law, discusses the problematic aspects.
