Abstract [eng] Filamentous Green Algae and their Ecological Peculiarities in Lithuanian Rivers The study on filamentous green algae was performed in the rivers Šventoji, Dubysa and Nevėžis in 2019 August-September. Species diversity, abundance, the impact of environmental variables on macroalgae and morphology of Cladophora glomerata were assessed. A total of 20 taxa of filamentous green algae which belong to 2 phylum, 3 classes, 5 orders and 7 genera were found. The highest species diversity was characteristic of Conjugatophyceae, Chlorophyceae phylum and Zygnematales, Oedogoniales orders. Cladophora glomerata, species from Spirogyra, Oedogonium genera prevailed in the studied rivers. The thallus of C. glomerata was very sparsely or sparsely branched. The species growth abundant and formed the largest mats in the rivers Šventoji and Nevėžis. Substrate, water temperature and conductivity had impact on the morphology of C. glomerata. Significant factors affected the abundance and distribution of macroalgae in the studied rivers were substrate, water velocity and nutrients (total nitrogen).
