The purpose of this master thesis is to create the methodology to evaluate usability of mobile applications according to elderly users. This master thesis analyzes usability and usability heuristics for mobile devices. Universal usability heuristics and attributes of mobile devices are presented in this paper. Then it is investigated what are the main challenges and gesture interaction possibilities using touch-based user interfaces. Later presented elderly users‘ attributes using smartphones. Further, different user types are presented. The analysis of three different sets of heuristics is done and the specialized set of heuristics for mobile is selected. Then created a questionnaire based on selected set of heuristics. The result of this thesis is a methodology for usability evaluation of mobile applications according to elderly users. Finally the validation of methodology is presented and checked if created methodology does not oppose to external opinion and reveals usability defects of mobile applications. |
