Abstract [eng] |
Comparison of graduation methods When constructing mortality table, we get mortality estimates which we call crude because the curve connecting produced estimates may not be smooth. So crude rates should be graduated. We will use parametric and non-parametric approaches. We will provide examples from each group - Gompertz model, Makeham model (parametric graduation) and Whittaker method, moving-weight average method (non-parametric graduation). Numerical examples applied to Lithuanian mortality are given and we will compare got results. |
