Abstract [eng] State-owned enterprises in importance over the last five years the world has grown and increased their influence on the national budgets, but they still do not state these benefits, which is derived from the private sector. SOE Lietuvos paštas over the last few years of operation managed to increase profitability and reduce operating losses, but today's market teaches different rules. For a long time were one of the most important means of communication, postal services, as a means of information exchange, began to give way to digital services: e-mail, the Internet and other services incurred basis. AB Lietuvos paštas revenues directly depend on the number of services rendered, and the universal postal services represent 54 per cent. all Lietuvos paštas revenues, these changes in the market poses a serious threat to the profitability of the company. This master thesis analyzes the strategic management of the mail system, based on the scientific literature, law, strategic and other contents of the documents, statistical analysis and interview techniques. The study consists of three parts. In the first part, theoretical and documentary disclosed mail system of strategic management discourse. An overview of the essential characteristic of the development of postal services in the theoretical aspects of strategic management (the conception of strategic management analysis, identification of key stages in the process of strategic management, strategic management techniques and methodology of selection of the importance of identifying specific features of the services sector and postal services administration policy).
