Abstract [eng] The main aim of the research – to reveal the application possibilities of Common Assessment Framework (CAF) in Didţdvaris gymnasium in order to increase the efficiency of institution. To achieve the aim the scientific literature analysis as well as analysis of documents were chosen. Seeking to investigate the need and possibilities of CAF empyrical part of the thesis involves a survey of experts which is based on the CAF methodology. The study data were processed to obtain qualitative data proccessing methods. The theoretical part aims to discuss the concept of total quality management (TQM), presents the main principles and their application in public sector, provides the aspects of Lithuanian education system and the tendencies in applying the TQM in these institutions. This empirical part seeks to analyze the possibilities of applying CAF in Didţdvaris gymnasium. The research was done in Didţdvaris gymnasium using qualitative method – structured interview and document analysis. The data obtain in research showed that CAF is being officially implemented in this institution but the main problem occurs the organization lacks the experience in applying CAP and this influences that the view to the process of management is not based on the systemic aspect. It was concluded that the hypothesis formulated at the beginning of the thesis, i.e. CAF methods is not used in Didţdvaris gymnasium – was confirmed only partially because we can state that there are the possibilities to apply CAF methods in this organization.
