Abstract [eng] The paper analyzes motives of state actors to rely on proxies in cyber space. Considering theoretical proxy warfare and proxy involvement assumptions, which encourages state actors to use third parties conducting cyber-attacks, the theoretical rational choice model is created. The author of this paper provides insights on proxy involvement and proxy warfare concept, cyberspace capabilities, elements of cyber-attacks and evaluation of proxy actors capabilities in cyberspace. Rational choice model, which encourages state actors to use proxies in cyberspace, is applied to analyze cyber-attacks against USA candidate Hillary Clinton, during 2016 USA presidential elections.
