Abstract [eng] The aim of this work is to reveal and find out how and what kind of shamanistic practice rituals dominate in Lithuanian social performances. More and more of social performances diffusely take over the motives of shamanistic practice rituals, therefore often it makes difficult to understand the content of artist’s expression and displayed ability to move the current existence to another dimensional plane – habitat of shamanistic beliefs. It is therefore important to explain the elements of shamanistic practices and their accessibility which is reflected in contemporary artists’ performances. Shamanism ritual’s performance in art becomes increasingly common choice among artists. However, as seen through the interdisciplinary science prism, the analyzed problem is not widely studied, but touched only fragmentally. Concepts of Guy Debord and Gintautas Mažeikis are defined, which allows to analyze contemporary society’s “theatricals” and its break points when performance artist intervenes. The latter uses metamorphosis, catharsis and mimesis principals, which are defined by Gintautas Mažeikis. By using the mentioned elements the artists enable the ability for transformation and metamorphosis. The main analyzed aspects are phenomena and methods of shamanistic practices which are analyzed in detail in theoretical part, and are linked with the categories distinguished by content analysis method in empirical part. Also the concept of sacrifice is explained, which unlike the direct understanding (sacrificed by shuddering the blood) is identified as the sacrifice of human existence for transformation and existence’s replacement. The identified categories are compared with performances by Marina Abramovič which fragmentally touches methods and actions of shamanistic practices.
