Abstract [eng] Since 2015, the new system of informal education organisation and funding should come into force. Therefore, it is very important to formulate a situation of institutions providing informal education for school students after the changes in policy. In accordance with the concept of informal education of children, sport training facilities will have to undertake in two activities: education supplementing the formal education and the informal education of children. Therefore, it is very important to provide the changes in the activity of sport training facilities. When they are established, it is necessary to change the approach to the athlete training, activities of sports coaches and management of sports education. It is very important to model both the changes in one sport training facility and sport training facilities in the city. The problem of the research is based on the following claims: participation of children in informal education activities is insufficient; a lot of children do not participate in informal education at all; municipalities do not deal with the problems related to the development of the infrastructure of sports education. The subject. Sports education supplementing the formal education of school students. Hypothesis. It is likely that the realisable concept of informal children education will have a positive effect on increased number of children coming to sport training facilities; the activities of these institutions will be more oriented at satisfying children’s need for movement. The aim of research. To analyse the situation of informal children sports education and create athlete training model supplementing the formal education. Objectives: 1. To analyse and assess recommendations for organisations of sports education. 2. To analyse the efficiency of formal sports education of children and the change in sports results. 3. To formulate sports education supplementing the formal education of school students. Methodology of research. The research is based on methodological provisions of humanistic philosophy and psychology, sports and adaptation theories. Research methods. The work applied the following research methods: theoretical analysis and generalisation, document analysis and mathematics statistics method. Conclusion. 1. The prevailing approach to formal education of children is oriented at the achievement of sports results. The number of academic hours assigned to the coach depends on the sports result. Children who do not achieve the sports results are not desired in the sports training facilities. The school do not perform any activity related to the satisfaction of natural movement needs of a child. 2. Even though the mechanism for assigning academic hours is favourable enough, coaches do not manage to achieve the average level of sports results on the basis of the age groups. The essential limiting factor is the abilities of the educator. 3. The concept of informal children education will orient sports educators at the satisfaction of natural movement needs of a child and the necessity to improve, and provide services of better quality. This will allow attracting more school students to sports education facilities. The higher number of students will results in better funding, because in the realised funding system, money follows the child.
