| Abstract [eng] |
This Final Thesis discusses in detail the concept and structure of social insurance as well as the development of social insurance in Lithuania. The necessity of private pension funds of stage II in Lithuania was objectively analysed and presented. Furthermore, a thorough economic evaluation of private pension funds of stage II operating in Lithuania has been carried out, and the trends and measures for the improvement of such pension funds have been presented according to the results of such evaluation. The hypothesis of the Thesis has been confirmed: the social insurance system created in Lithuania is not capable of ensuring the necessary pension care, so additional accumulation of old age pension funds at private pension funds is recommended. |
