As markets become increasingly global, it is important to identify the agricultural sector situation at the international level, opportunities to cope with competitive pressure from other countries to assess individual Lithuanian agricultural sector competitiveness. Although the agricultural sector competitiveness analysis of scientific work is devoted enough attention, but usually it is limited to comparisons with the EU countries. However, the Lithuanian agricultural products are exported not only to EU countries, and the assessment of the competitiveness of agriculture alone is not sufficient to comparisons with the EU countries, it is important to determine the Lithuanian agricultural competitiveness in the major trade partners of the international context. The aim– after theoretic analysis of the competitiveness of agricultural assessments specificities, make a study of separate Lithuanian agricultural sector competition intothe major international agricultural trade partners. The tasks: • In theory justified the competitiveness of the essence and determinants of competitiveness to identify methods of assessment; • Perform an overview of Lithuanian and major international agricultural trade partners • Evaluate the Lithuanian dairy, pig and grain sectors competitiveness; • Evaluate the Lithuanian dairy, pig and grain sectors competitiveness prospects. Masters‘s work is systematized and analyzed the factors of agriculture competitiveness and theoretical aspects of its evaluation distinguished by Lithuanian and foreign authors. On the basis of the theoretical analysis carried out the survey methodology, which is used to analyze the Lithuanian agricultural sector major assessment of the competitiveness of the most important partners in international trade. The investigation seeks to determine the competitive advantages and disadvantages of Lithuanian dairy, pig and grain sectors taking into account the relevant factors, such as the production of sectors growth, the production rate of self-sufficiency, the buying-in price and output the result of international trade. An investigation revealed that, although traditionally Lithuania considered livestock attractive country, crop sector was leading in recent years. Lithuanian grain sector ranks first in terms of estimated ranking of competitiveness from all analyzed countries, while the diary sector shall accrue only 6, and the location of the pig-7 rank of the analyzed 9 countries. |
