A research using a structured interview method has been conducted in order to reveal the attitude of parents towards communication skills in pupils and teachers. Content analysis has been conducted. The research involved parents of 6 pupils. The principal findings of the empirical research: 1. Relationship between pupils and teachers is becoming a significant factor which encourages people to take responsibility for their communicative behaviour and skills. It emerged that there is a need for finding an integrated solution to pupils and teachers’ problems. Factors contributing to a successful communication are: timely and required information, individual personal traits, attitude towards pupils and working together. 2. The forms of successful communication are: adequately arranged conversations, trips, walking tours with form tutors, participation in collective meetings, organizing events and united activities. 3. According to the results of a questionnaire-based survey, the factors and forms disturbing communication are: being busy, mistrust of pedagogues, insufficient flexibility in pedagogues, different attitudes towards the needs of a child, and the lack of young specialists. 4. The results of a research demonstrate that the social pedagogue is still struggling to find a close contact with the pupils, he/she is mistrusted. The relationship between pupils and social pedagogues would improve if there were events organized helping to learn more about social pedagogue’s functions and their work at school. |
