The aim or this research is to find out rural community members and professionals working in the rural community institutions, the social approach to social pedagogue needed in rural communities in Lithuania. To achieve this objective has been used two questionnaire, created by the authors. One questionnaire was adapted for rural community residents and other – for professionals working in the rural community institutions. A total of 130 persons were interviewed, 93 persons were residents of rural communities and 37 individuals working in rural communities institutions. Subjects age was 18 to 89 years. Distribution by gender: 51 males (39.2 percent.), 79 women (60.8 percent). The results showed that both the rural community and the professionals working in the rural community institutions, considers that the social pedagogue is required for Lithuanian rural communities. Professionals working in the rural community institutions believe that the social educator services are more needed in rural communities in Lithuania than in rural community residents not employed in such institutions. Residents of rural communities and professionals working in rural communities, institutions, considers that most social pedagogue activity to address youth employment, inclusion of the elderly and poor students motivation problems. Professionals working in the rural community institutions, strongly believe that the social educator to help solve unemployment and social exclusion of families and the prevalence of psychoactive substance use problems than rural community members who do not work in rural community institutions. Professionals working in the rural community institutions, in terms of social pedagogue activity for pre-school age children, people without housing and older people are more useful than it refers to rural community members who do not work in rural community institutions. Both the rural community residents, as well as professionals working in the rural community institutions believe that the social educator activities with different target groups would be helpful. Both the rural community residents, as well as professionals working in the rural community authorities consider the various social educator activities in rural communities as useful. Professionals working in the rural community institutions, these activities are: to represent the interests of the local community, to organize cultural events, organizing training for local community residents to organize environmental management talc, develop and implement projects to take care of the youth during their free time, to organize support in mobilizing community sees greater social pedagogue work usefulness than seeing rural community residents, unemployed rural community institutions. Both the rural community residents and professionals working in the rural community institutions, social educator sees the same benefits of cooperation with other rural community institutions. It can be concluded that the social educator is required for Lithuanian rural communities and carried out a number of useful features. |
