Violence prevention activities are performed by some institutions: Educational Institutions of all types, public organizations, mass media. Preventive activities are emphasized in work of the Police most actively. While assessing the summaries of Police activities in different Districts it is noticeable that all of them are highlighting various indicators of preventive activity which suggests that one of the Police scopes actively implemented is preventive activity. The problem of this Survey is the following: how to implement the preventive activity of the violence in the close environment while collaboration of Police and NGOs and to assure the efficiency of it in smaller villages? The Object of the Survey: collaboration of Police and NGOs while implementing the prevention of violence in the close environment. Objective of the Survey: to examine the collaboration possibilities of Police and NGOs by implementing the violence prevention in the close environment in case of Klaipėda District. In order to achieve this Objective the following goals has been raised: to present the theoretical assumptions of violence and violence in the close environment conceptions; to analyze the possibilities and methods of preventive activities; to assess the similarities and differences of activities performed by Police and NGOs; to examine the attitude of Police Officers regarding the possibilities of preventive activities implementation while collaborating with NGOs and application of them while solving the problems of violence in the close environment; to investigate the opinion of NGOs Representatives regarding the possibilities of preventive activities implementation and while collaborating with the Police and application of them while solving the problems of violence in the close environment. The main conclusions after completing the survey have been made: The Survey completed of Police Officers opinion has revealed that Police is collaborating with NGOs constantly as it allows information exchange, realization of corporate preventive events during which the awareness of society increases, the image of Police is emphasized and improved, awareness of NGOs activities increases; the need of society to help the Law Enforcement Institutions in solving the problems of violence in the close environment appears. Meanwhile the results of NGOs Representative Opinion Survey has revealed that NGOs are collaborating with the Police regarding the violence in a close environment and investigation of it constantly as it is required by the goal of the common intentions to protect the victims. The forms of communication are diverse, though the activation and variation of this activity is hampered by under-funding of such activities. |
