Abstract [eng] Uterine rupture is a rare, but potentially serious obstetric complication with a high incidence of fetal and maternal morbidity. This urgent complication is a complete division of all three layers of the uterus: the endometrium, the myometrium and the perimetrium. Most uterine ruptures occur during labour, also it may occasionally happen earlier in pregnancy. The most common cause of uterine rupture is a C-section scar and previous gynecological surgeries. Every year the use of C-section is steadily increasing, consequently, it led to the increase of uterine rupture cases. Aim: To select and analyze expert presented causes, diagnostics and recommendations for the treatment of uterine rupture. Methods: the review of literature was conducted using the „PubMed“ medical database, selecting publications, investigating the burden of uterine rupture. Conclusions: After analysis of the literature main causes, diagnostics and treatments methods of uterine rupture are presented.
