Abstract [eng] |
Young people with intellectual disabilities have low physical capacity and specific executive functions, but these factors are not given enough attention in vocational training. This is often one of the problems of young people's employment and retention in the labour market. So physical capacity should be given much more attention in vocational training. Also, most young people with intellectual disabilities employment in work required by physical strength. The aim of the research is to investigate the interaction between general work-related physical abilities and executive function of young people with intellectual disabilities (mild and moderate) in vocational school and to prepare an evidence-based integrated programme of the development of work-related physical abilities to develop general physical abilities, psychomotor responses and executive function. Based on the obtained research results, an integrated physical work skills development program was prepared and the impact of the program was evaluated. In summary, we can say that an integrated programme of the development of work-related physical abilities to develop general physical abilities has a significant impact on the development of young people, physical work skills and executive function. The program should include physical exercises that develop not only the strength and endurance of the body muscles, but also the speed of reaction of body movements, dexterity of the hands (psychomotor functions), includes dual task exercises to stimulate cognitive functions. |
