Abstract [eng] The paper describes the positive and negative aspects of lectures in the auditorium and distance lectures from a methodological perspective. The possibilities for distance learning in management study programmes, and the differences with contact studies, are discussed. In the discussion, attitudes towards distance learning are presented. It is stated that in the process of fundamental changes in world society, universities need to change as well. It is possible to make the following summary of the ideas set out in this paper: it is necessary to apply a fundamentally new approach to studies and their organisation in university courses; and when studying social sciences management studies subjects, it is necessary to apply distance learning using modern technical means. Given the number of observations, we think the following (somewhat paradoxical) summary of the ideas set out in this part of the paper is possible: no matter how you study (with lectures and seminars taking place in the classroom or at a distance), the end result is a young person who is educated and ready for the labour market.
