Geometric shapes are rich with variety and are of great importance in various fields of mathematics, architecture and art. Their combinantions and numerous tillings of a particular space have various theoretical and practical properties: ones simple, others quite complex, both containing some significance ir their fields of interest. The object of this thesis is to overview regular polygon tilings of a plane: their properties, classification, theoretical and practical applications, mentions in mathematical articles and try to approach open questions in this or other similar topics. |
