Abstract [eng] Dark patterns are user interface patterns that, by exploiting the psychological features of attracting and retaining attention, force consumers to make decisions that benefit service providers and ensure business profitability. These patterns are called dark because users often do not notice manipulations that do not meet their expectations. This study identifies the attributes of dark patterns and develops a user interface inspection methodology based on them to assess the compliance of the user interface with ethical design guidelines and to identify manipulative elements. The methodology aims to identify breaches of the principles of the right to information, usability, security, flexibility, optimization, human well-being and property rights.
