Abstract [eng] In the Master’s Theses, there is considered the expression of social workers’ professional fatigue working with families at social risk as well as the educational possibilities of the minimising thereof. There are raised problem issues of the research: 1) how is the professional fatigue of social workers working with families at social risk expressed? 2) which organisational peculiarities make the biggest impact on the professional fatigue of social workers? 3) what are the possible effects, prevention of professional fatigue? In the paper, there are analysed and systemised theoretical peculiarities of professional fatigue and organisational factors as well as the interrelations thereof. Pursuing to examine the professional fatigue of social workers working with families at social risk, 151 social workers working with social risk families in various locations were examined using the method of a questionnaire survey. The research data were analysed using statistical methods, SPSS software. Having summarised the findings of the research, it became clear that the features of professional fatigue expressed by negative health and behavioural changes were characteristic to the big part of social workers, who participated in the research. The largest part of negative effects on health included heart and circulatory disorders, sleep and eating disorders, impaired mental health. Changed behaviour is characterised by two newly emerged behavioural tendencies: destructive behaviour and self-harming behaviour. Work peculiarities caused the workers’ professional fatigue the most, however partially it could be caused also by the management style as well as collective interrelations. The biggest influence on the professional fatigue was made by autocratic management style, expressed by permanent control of subordinates, threat of penalties for true and alleged faults and a huge split between the manager and employees. Democratic management sty enables the prognostication of the reduction of the professional fatigue of social workers. The research disclosed that in cases of the expression of professional fatigue, it was reduced by favourable interrelations and especially the initiative of colleagues supporting and helping to solve problems to the employee suffering professional fatigue. The research demonstrated that the big part of social workers working with families at social risk had not developed their educational and social competences in the area of professional fatigue. The raised hypothesis of the research that in different situations, the professional fatigue of social workers could be caused by different factors was proved correct.
