Abstract [eng] The aim of this thesis is to investigate the application of talent management practices in folklore ensembles. The thesis consists of the following parts: a review of the scientific literature, the study and its results, conclusions and recommendations. The literature review analyses the literature on talent management, presents the problems of defining talent in terms of human resource management and the five dimensions of the concept of talent. The assumptions about the talent management practices by positions within these dimensions are presented. The review of folklore ensembles’ research and the arts management literature is compared to draw the assumptions about talent management practices in folklore ensembles. The second part introduces the methodology of the empirical study and arguments for the choice of grounded theory approach. 11 semi-structured interviews with 11 folklore ensemble leaders and participants have been caried out. The analysis of the empirical data presents the concept of talent in folklore ensembles through the 5 dimensions of the definition of talent, identifying key abilities, personality traits, the alignment of attitudes towards innate talents and acquired skills, and a strong orientation towards the contribution of participants' individual efforts to achieve excellence. The talent management practices uncovered showed that folklore ensembles focus on talent utilization and development. The conclusions summarize the results of the empirical study. The author hopes that this work will provide valuable insights for the folklore ensemble artistic directors, seeking to make their ensembles successful. This work is also expected to contribute to the studies of the ethno-cultural activities with addition of a management science perspective to the field.
