The theoretical part of the Master's work deals with the principles of good administration organizing the social service to risk families, and the qualitative research has been done applying the theory. To study the analyzed issues, scientific publications of foreign and Lithuanian authors, the Lithuanian legislation, strategic plans and Internet sources have been selected and the analysis and systematization has been done. The examination of the practical organization of the social services for the risk families is done using empirical social research methods. That is the material of an interview with the Siauliai district social workers working with the disadvantaged families and Social Services Administration experts. The aim of the research is to reveal the expression of the principles of good governance in the organization of working with disadvantaged families of Siauliai district municipality and to provide opportunities for improvement. The study helped to reveal that the social services in Siauliai district would be much more effective if transportation problems were resolved, more attention were paid to the professional development of the social workers, the jurisdiction of social workers were defined and they were coordinated consistently and continually. The workload would be less and the disadvantaged families were provided diverse services. |
