Abstract [eng] Thesis title. Appliance of Drama Therapy Methods to Self-esteem in Adults With Learning Disabilities Background. The study investigated drama therapy methods to strengthen self-esteem in adults with low self-esteem. It has been observed in the research literature that learning disabilities are associated with chronic adult psychological problems, and drama therapy is presented as an effective method to address them. However, very few specific studies linking the application of drama therapies to adults with learning disabilities and low self-esteem have been found. Objective. To investigate the applicability of drama therapy for self-esteem strengthening by working with adults with learning disabilities. Participant. An adult 29-year-old man with three learning disabilities and (according to the Rosenberg scale) low self-esteem. Methods. A qualitative research strategy was chosen for the research. Research data was collected using a semi-structured interview method and in the format of images and audio recordings of drama therapy sessions. Data analysis was performed using the method of reflexive thematic analysis. The study was conducted in 2021. October - May 2022. Results. Reflective thematic analysis revealed three main themes: 1. Stories - the way to oneself (subtopics: memories of childhood, relationships with loved ones and romantic relationships); 2) Discoveries and expansion of perception (subtopics: drama therapy and other therapies, boundaries and inner power, intuition and spontaneity); 3) transformation (subtopics: a ritual for experiencing difficulties, working with oneself and strengthening self-esteem, overcoming fears and listening to one's own needs). Conclusions. The research participant's reflections reveal a positive experience during the drama therapy sessions, and the desire to participate in them was named. The client also mentioned that he felt positive changes in attitudes, which strengthened his self-esteem, helped him look at his problems from a different angle, and emphasized the emergence of positive emotions. The instruments provided by drama therapy have further practical applicability in the client's life. Keywords: drama therapy, self-esteem, learning disabilities, dramatic space, role-playing, storytelling, ritual.
