After Lithuania has joined the European Union, constant changes take part in the Education System: a shift from teaching to learning, more teachers are able and willing to work in a more modern way according to an updated general education programmes, in addition they try to be aware of the requirements of the quality of education, which are raised to a modern school, are eager to apply new teaching and learning methods. For these reasons the teachers seek to improve their professional qualifications. The subject of the research – the match between the preschool teachers‘qualification improvement services supply and qualification improvement demand. The hypothesis of the research- it is presumptive that preschool teachers‘qualification improvement demand and qualification improvement services supply are subject to a partial match. The aim of the research is to provide theoretical grounding and to perform empirical investigation of the match between the supply of preschool teachers‘qualification improvement and the demand of their qualification improvement; to find out the indicators revealing the quality of preschool teachers‘qualification improvement. The research methods. Theoretical, empirical and statistical. During the analysis of the theoretical literature the quality of preschool teachers‘qualification improvement was investigated under the aspect of the match between services supply and demand. In realization of qualitative and quantitative research strategy, the qualitative research method, i.e. documentary analysis and quantitative research method, i.e. the questionnaire, which helped to investigate the quality of preschool teachers‘ qualification improvement in terms of the match between services supply and the demand of preschool teachers’ qualification improvement, were employed. The research volume and organization Qualitative and quantitative research was carried out. In a qualitative research, the strategic plans of 32 preschool education institutions of the Republic of Lithuania were analysed. It enabled to reveal the demand of the services of preschool teachers’ qualification improvement. The quantitative research: 232 respondents (215 teachers and 17 heads of the educational institutions) from Šiauliai city preschool education institutions participated in the research. |
