Models of training, life and work are undergoing a rapid change and it is not easy for a young person to make a decision on his/her career in the current period of economic, social and technological variations. Some people know what they are going to do even in their childhood, and some cannot answer to the question even after finishing their schools. A young person very often needs advice and sometimes only agreement or encouragement. Thus, the need arises to help for a student find his/her way in life. During the period of carrying out international projects, aiming at developing and achieving good results in work guidance and consultation system, improving the quality of services and availability, career information points (CIPs) are established and are operational. The aim of the research is to identify the influence of the activities of career information points on career choices of students The object of the research is the influence of the activities of career information points on career choices of students. The sample and place of the research. So as to reveal the activities of career information points at schools and their influence on career choices of students, a survey was carried out in 6 different schools. As a result, half of schools possess career information points. 291 respondents participated in the questionnaire. According to the findings of the survey, the respondents of the schools are classified similarly by their career choices. The majority of them have certain doubts when choosing their job, the reason of which lies in the lack of career information. The worries usually arise concerning the situation in labor market, the lack of information on requirements and policy related to entering institutions of high or vocational education and possibilities for further trainings and studies. Although there are many specialists providing information on career at schools, however, a very small number of respondents use their help. The majority of students discuss the questions related to career with their own parents. |
