The topic of the research is „The usage of the results of school’s audit in making school’s management effective“. The author of the paper is Rasa Misiukevičienė, the student of Management of Education and Social Psychology, in Education Faculty, the Department of Extramural Studies. For a long time the main school assessment’s criteria were considered student’s academic achievements and the number of the students that entered high schools. However, school’s objectives are much wider than just preparing students for university: the objectives are also to educate an independent, public-spirited and fair personality. From now on schools can evaluate themselves according to the methodology of audit of comprehensive school. According to it, every school has a chance to check quality, realize disadvantages and anticipate perspective of development. The hypothesis of the paper is that internal audit reveals inner advantages and disadvantages of school. The aim - to get acquainted with the methodology of audit and to highlight the advantages and disadvantages of school’s management according to the basis of results. The tasks: • To ascertain if audit is one of the most important and reliable sources of economic information • To evaluate present situation of school and ascertain both advantages and disadvantages. Research methods: observation, questionnaire, conversation, interview, the analysis of documents. In the first part the theoretical research work’s bases are being presented: the relevance of audit, classification. In the second part the evaluation of educational institution is being reviewed. In the third part the analysis of inner audit, completed at school, is given. Three ranges of evaluation are reviewed, that is “Management of School and Reassurance of Quality”, “Content of Education” and “Means”. The conclusions: 1. Audit is one of the most important and reliable sources of economic information. 2. Audit helps to highlight advantages and disadvantages of school management. 3. The methodology of inner audit helps to gain the skills of analyzing the state of school and information available, concentrate sources, envisage both strong and weak points of activity, emerging interruptions, possibilities and dangers, perceive success and failures, together with community formulate the objectives of school that are clear and perceived by everyone, plan activity strategically , create culture of modern school and improve its management. 4. Systematic, permanent and well-structured inner evaluation is useful for the chance to improve activity and pursue quality. 5. Inner audit requires much extra work and expenditure of time from the teachers, but it helps to organize the process of education more qualitatively. 6. The results of questionnaire not always accord with the real situation. |
