In the theoretical part of the master‘s thesis, the dialog between people, between a man and a thing, and between a craft and an art has been analysed. The importance of the dialog for the development of a craft has been ascertained there. By development of technologies, crafts acquire completely different meaning. They lose their possessed significance in life and due to great expenditures of time become unpopular. Frequently, there are artists (curriers) who are using old traditions in their creative work. Their leathern sculpture works, prototypes chosen for creation and used technologies are reviewed there. The coaly iron and its development (form, décor, heating technique) is analysed in the work. Its form and the performed process – the ironing – are used as prototypes for creation of a collection. The hypothesis raised during the work was confirmed. Two groups constituting the collection by being stylistically different emphasise different times an generations. The dialog between a thing and a man originates in observation of this collection by a spectator. |
