Abstract [eng] Globalization, development and rapid change of information, fragmented society: these are the challenges to be responded the first of all by the educational system, because as stated in the Law on Education (2011), Education Guidelines, education will perform the public obligations only when its development goes in front of overall development of society. Lifelong learning is becoming the key educational principle. Lithuanian education system creates opportunities for lifelong learning. Thus, lifelong learning must be accessible to all people, regardless of their social status. The state must ensure that everyone had access to education and its quality. Lifelong learning supports creativity and innovation and enables full participation in the economic and social life.
