Theoretical part of Master’s final paper deals with the renovation design decisions, discusses their advantages and disadvantages. It analyzes the economic, social and environmental benefits of the refurbishment. The paper introduces the refurbishment’s cost-effectiveness assessment methodology.The empirical part analyze indicates that the Siauliai city residents are facing difficulties paying their bills for heat. Analyze of already implemented investment projects data show that although the projects payback period is relatively long, but considering the public support given for such projects it is beneficial for population to accomplish such projects. The evaluation of typical apartment blocks modernization impact to the city, allows to create conditions for a decrease in unemployment, an increase in consumption, decrease in the debts for heat, etc. The most importantly, the modernization of the buildings stimulates economic growth of the region (the city). |
