Abstract [eng] |
The Lithuanian State Border Guard Service has already been providing vocational training for 15 years, but still it is not clear wether the present educational system will be appropriate for the professional needs of future officers. One of the most important aspects that ensures education quality is a relevant balance between theory and practice and usefulness for the present work of border guards. The aim of this work is to identify the problems of teaching process that hinder education quality and to suggest some ways for solving the problems and improving the educational system. The main problem of the training process in the Visaginas Border Guard school is the lack of modern training equipment. Also, the basic strategy of training politics has not formed yet. These factors make the realisation of the training process complecated and not always successful. Nowadays the programm of basic studies is not appropriate to the requirements for professional staff of the State Border Guard Service and has been imroving. It would be purposeful to make an action plan for solving the problems of quality education security. It could define the decisions to such questions as provision of methodological means, the improvement of material facilities, the promotion of self-education of officers, timely spread of information in subdivisions, more flexible regulation of officers‘ workload (this would provide motivation for learning), preparation of trainers or their in-service training. |
