Abstract [eng] |
The paper presents the study which was sought to disclose expression of pre-school aged children experiencing behavioural and emotional difficulties and to identify the strategies applied by teachers and parents in the course of education of pre-school aged children experiencing behavioural and emotional difficulties. Hypothesis was set that teachers and parents apply compatible emotion and behaviour management strategies oriented towards maintaining positive behaviour of the child. In order to collect survey data, scientific literature, secondary legal document and statistic data analyses were applied as well as discussions in a gathered group and questioning survey methods. Qualitative (content analysis) and statistic (descriptive of frequencies, averages, factor analysis, parametric T - test) data analysis were applied. 13 experts (practitioners) from one Šiauliai pre-school establishment and 236 pedagogues from pre-school establishments as well as 70 parents of pre-school aged children experiencing behavioural and emotional difficulties from all over Lithuania participated in the survey. Most important conclusions of empiric research: 1. Empiric research data shows that opinions of pedagogues and parents about emotional and behavioural expression in pre-school age are a little contrasting. Most of all it is stressed that pre-school aged children experiencing behavioural and emotional difficulties feature difficulties in attention and self-regulation. Pedagogues identify sufficiently high children aggression and unsuitable behaviour expressions and lack in education motivation, at the same time parents rare state signs of aggressive and unsuitable behaviour, notice no emotional and social difficulties in their children. 2. The structure of strategies applied by teachers and parents to manage emotions and behaviour disclosed the interactions and activities organized, oriented towards stimulation of positive behaviour and emotions. Positive setting creation tendency is identified. Though the strategies applied both by parents and teachers are oriented towards stimulation of positive behaviour and emotions, due to insufficiently efficient communication their compatibility is a little restricted. 3. The hypothesis was confirmed partially, that teachers and parents apply compatible emotion and behaviour management strategies, oriented towards stimulation of positive behaviour and emotions. |
