The goal of this work is to analyse the possibilities of tourism development in Ukmerge’s region. The models and elements of tourism system, the theories of tourism development, scrutinized, the effect of environment to the development of tourism, the infrastructure of tourism development are analysed and systematized in this work. Various models of tourism service development, given by different Lithuanian and foreign authors, are discussed and compared. The conception of influence of tourism development to our economy is given and the tendencies of tourism expansion in EU, Lithuania and Ukmerge are shown. The research of possibilities for tourism development in Ukmerge’s region and town is presented. After surveying the owners of the settlement companies in Ukmerge’s region, the possibilities of tourism development in Ukmerge’s town and region are ascertained, the development of tourism information and marketing and business environment are assessed, analysed which tourism resources could be cultivated. Both hypothesis are confirmed – that there is the lack of active relaxation and recreation services planning in Ukmerge’s region and that the national politics and juridical environment have negative impact on the activity of the settlement companies in Ukmerge’s region. |
