Abstract [eng] The problem in postgraduate project is: operational opportunities of AB „Vienybė“ for the development, the substantiation of the strategy. There is a systematic analysis of the various authors strategic management theory in theoretical part of the project. The analysis of scientific literature has shown that one of possible AB „Vienybė“ strategic management theoretical concepts could be niche strategy model, which contains the company's planning and management techniques, participating individuals in planning and management process. Empirical analysis showed that the primary strategic objective for AB „Vienybė“ is to produce very high quality spatial metal structures, as completing parts of a particularly high - reliability products in the car and rail industries. The implementation of the strategic goal would give an opportunity for AB „Vienybė“ to become the only company not only in Lithuania, but also in Eastern Europe, using special welding technology, a fully conforming to European Union standards. This would significantly increase the overall manufacturing industry competitiveness and business development in Lithuania. The analysis results of AB „Vienybė“ based the following recommendations for administration: to update the company's production base by building up a new, modern plant, to install a certified welding technology, to produce high value - added products and increase enterprise productivity; to increase AB „Vienybė“ competitiveness and to increase workers' skills.
